Ian Hosking

Ian has over 35 years of professional experience in geotechnical and tunnel engineering, geoenvironmental engineering, hydrogeology, professional practice management and major projects. He initially held various technical and management positions in a specialist geosciences consulting business working mainly in Australia and also in Asia. Ian then led the growth of AECOM’s Ground Engineering and Tunnelling team in Australia and New Zealand between 2007 and 2012. He also served as a project board member on several major and successful civil infrastructure Alliance projects in Australia between 2003 and 2013.

Ian has been working in the Middle East since the start of 2014, as Vice President, Ground Engineering and Tunnelling. During this time, Ian has played an active role in projects in KSA, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Bahrain, especially in the areas of groundwater management, tunnel and shaft design and ground improvement. Since the start of 2015 he has also led the development of AECOM’s Ground Engineering Practice across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.
